about
This song was inspired by all the amazing people in this world who believe that if we share our gifts, and work together, there really Iis enough to go around for EVERYONE, xo
I entered the song in the Islands Folk Festival Songwriting Contest and was lucky enough to win first prize, which not only allowed me to perform at and attend the wonderful festival, but to record it with Zak Cohen at the Woodshop Recording Studio in Duncan. So fun! I am really grateful for this opportunity :)
lyrics
WATCH OUR GARDEN GROW by Renata Shaw
I’ve been thinking about this world, it seems a little strange to me
Why just a few of us have so much, while so many go hungry
We can’t afford to get discouraged, gotta keep the hope alive
Keep believing that together, we can set this right
Well I've got a big heart, you've got a little land,
She’s got a few seeds in the palm of her hand
If we put it all together, add a little weather
Maybe we can watch this garden grow
I've been thinking about the good things,
and the way this world could be
If we put our hearts together,
and be the change we want to see
I know a girl she’s gonna change this world
She’ll climb high in every apple tree
To harvest the gold, in every shining globe
And bring it down to share with you and me
She’s gotta big heart, you've got a little land,
I've got a few seeds in the palm of my hand
If we put it all together, add a little weather
Maybe we can watch this garden grow
Put it all together, add a little weather,
Maybe we can feed this whole wide world
